ROB’S STORY
ROB KNOX WAS JUST 18 YEARS OLD WHEN HIS LIFE WAS TRAGICALLY CUT SHORT BY A STABBING IN SIDCUP, KENT ON THE 24TH MAY 2008
Rob was a typical teenager with a great sense of humour, he loved to spend time with his large circle of friends who often looked to him to organise their nights out.
He had a close relationship with Jamie, his younger brother, and was a big part of a very close and loving family.
Rob had many attributes, he was loving, caring, thoughtful, generous and kind to name but a few. He also had a strong belief in doing the right thing, always putting others before himself.

BRAVERY AWARD
A prime example of this was the bravery he had shown when helping to apprehend two men who assaulted someone whilst working for Marks and Spencer in Bluewater Shopping Centre, Kent.
Rob received a posthumous merit award from the Kent Police for outstanding professional conduct, which we were so very proud to accept on his behalf.
ACTING CAREER
Rob grew up in Sidcup and attended Beths Grammer School in Bexley. He loved sport, rugby and martial arts, but from a young age his main ambition was to pursue his dream of becoming a professional actor.
His first break came in 2003 when he applied to a newspaper advert, winning the chance to appear in Channel Four's Trust me I'm A Teenager. He also went on to appear in Junior Master Chef, The Bill, Jerry Bruckheimer’s King Arthur, and alongside actors Dani Harmer and Nicholas Lyndhurst in the BBC sitcom After You've Gone.
“Although I only worked with Rob very briefly, I was struck by his professionalism, his dedication to his work, but most importantly on a frantic film-set he displayed a great deal of charm, and old-fashioned good manners. He shall be missed.
My very best wishes go to his family for their tragic and very untimely loss.”
HARRY POTTER AND THE HALF-BLOOD PRINCE
Rob's biggest opportunity came in 2007 when he won the role of Ravenclaw student Marcus Belby in Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince. He was so excited and proud.
Although Rob originally auditioned for the role of Cormac McLaggen, director David Yates felt he would be perfect for the character of Marcus Belby instead. David Yates would later confirm that he would have loved to have invited Rob back for the final instalment of the franchise, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part Two.
Just four days after he finished filming his scenes for Harry Potter, Rob was out celebrating with his friends and his brother when he was tragically taken from us.

He had his whole life ahead of him and a promising career as a young actor, but now we will never see him go on to make his mark on the world.
It wasn't until Robert died, did we realise just how many friends he had and how much he did for other people. Hearing about the good things has made us realise the difference Rob made to others in his short life.
Rob was an inspiration to his family and many others that knew him and was set to make a positive impact on this world.

To ensure Rob did not die in vain our family decided to set up a charity so that we can continue to make a positive impact in Robs name and hope that perhaps some good could come out of his awful tragedy.
